Junction on bend ahead

Warning signs

Junction on a bend ahead

Junction on bend ahead

What does this sign mean?

A side road joins the main road part-way round a bend, so vehicles may pull out where your view is already restricted by the curve. You will see it on country roads and older routes where junctions were never realigned. Reduce speed before the bend rather than in it, keep a safe position away from the kerb line of the side road, and expect emerging drivers to have a poor view of you. In the theory test this sign is used to test hazard awareness: the danger is the combination of limited visibility and traffic joining, not the bend by itself.
