Risk of grounding

What does this sign mean?

This sign warns of a sharp change in the road's level, such as a hump-backed bridge or a steep ramp, where a long or low vehicle could touch down and become stuck. It matters most to lorries, coaches, car transporters and vehicles towing low trailers. If your vehicle is at risk, use an alternative route or approach at an angle where the layout allows it, and never stop astride the hump. On a level crossing the same risk is serious enough that the Highway Code tells drivers of long, low vehicles to use the railway telephone before crossing.
