Warning signs
Bend to the right
Bend to right (or left if symbol reversed)
What does this sign mean?
A single sharp bend lies ahead in the direction the arrow curves; the mirrored sign warns of a bend to the left. It is used where the curve is tighter than drivers would expect from the road they are on, often after a long straight. Brake before the bend rather than in it, choose a position that opens up your view through the curve, and do not overtake where you cannot see the exit. Theory test questions treat bends as blind hazards, so the safe answer is always to slow down early.
