What does this sign mean?

This sign warns of road humps ahead and states the length of road over which they continue. It belongs to the traffic calming family and is common in residential streets, near schools and inside 20 mph zones. Slow to a speed that lets you cross each hump comfortably and stay at that speed through the whole marked distance rather than accelerating between humps. Theory test questions on traffic calming test the same idea: the measures are there to hold your speed down along the entire stretch.
