Warning signs
Double bend, first to the left
Double bend first to left (symbol may be reversed)
What does this sign mean?
The road ahead swings one way and then back the other, with the symbol showing the direction of the first bend; a reversed symbol means the first bend is to the right. It is common on rural roads and hill routes where the alignment changes quickly. Get your braking done before the first bend and take a position that keeps your view through the second one, because there is little room to correct your speed in between. Test questions use this sign to check that you slow down in a straight line and do not overtake where you cannot see the road ahead is clear.
