No vehicles over maximum gross weight shown

No vehicles over maximum gross weight shown (in tonnes

What does this sign mean?

No vehicle with a maximum gross weight above the figure shown, given in tonnes, may pass this sign. Unlike the goods vehicle version, this restriction applies to all vehicles and is normally used to protect a weak bridge or structure. Check your vehicle's plated weight rather than guessing from its size, and follow the alternative route where one is signed. Weight limits and the difference between an all-vehicle limit and a goods-vehicle limit are examined in the lorry and bus theory tests.
