Signs giving orders
Turn left ahead
Turn left ahead (right if symbol reversed
What does this sign mean?
The blue circle instructs you to turn left at the junction ahead; the mirrored version orders a turn to the right. It is used where a straight-ahead movement is not permitted or not possible, such as at a junction with a one-way system. Position yourself and signal early so following drivers know what you are doing. Blue circular signs are positive instructions rather than prohibitions, and the theory test regularly checks that you know the difference between blue circles and red-ringed signs.
