Pedestrian crossing point over tramway

Signs giving orders

Pedestrian crossing point over tramway

What does this sign mean?

This sign marks a place where pedestrians cross a tramway, often close to a tram stop or a shopping street. People stepping between platforms or hurrying for a tram may not be looking for road traffic at all. Approach slowly, expect pedestrians in the carriageway and never block the crossing point while waiting in a queue. Tram stops without platforms, where passengers step straight into the road, are a specific theory test scenario worth remembering.
