Signs giving orders
No stopping during times shown
No stopping during times shown except for as long as necessary to set down or pick up passengers
What does this sign mean?
During the hours on the plate you must not stop here at all, except for as long as it takes to set down or pick up passengers. The restriction is stronger than a waiting restriction, because even a brief halt to answer the phone or check a map is prohibited. Find a legal parking place beyond the restricted length instead. The distinction between no waiting and no stopping is a classic theory test trap, so read the sign and the plate together.
