Give priority to vehicles from the opposite direction

Give priority to vehicles from opposite direction

What does this sign mean?

Where the road narrows to a single lane, this sign tells you that oncoming traffic has priority and you must wait. It is common at pinch points built to calm traffic, at narrow bridges and where parked cars or works reduce the road to one usable lane. Hold back at the marked point until the way is clear rather than pushing into the gap. Its blue and red partner, which gives priority to you, is the standard contrast in theory test questions, so check which arrow is red.
