No towed caravans

What does this sign mean?

Vehicles towing a caravan must not go beyond this sign, usually because the road is too narrow, too steep or too tightly bent for a trailer. You will see it on hill routes, in villages and on access roads to sites that have a designated approach. If you are towing, follow the alternative route signed for caravans rather than attempting the restricted road. Towing restrictions and the lower speed limits that apply when towing are a regular pairing in theory test questions.
