Contra-flow bus lane

What does this sign mean?

A contra-flow bus lane carries buses in the opposite direction to the rest of the traffic, so vehicles will be coming towards you on your side of the road. It is used in one-way streets where buses are allowed to keep their two-way route. Take particular care when turning or when pulling out, and look for buses approaching from a direction you would not normally expect. The unexpected direction of travel is exactly why this sign features in theory test questions about one-way streets.
