Signs giving orders
No vehicles except bicycles being pushed
What does this sign mean?
This sign prohibits all vehicles, with the only exception being a bicycle that is being pushed rather than ridden. It is used to close a road or an area to traffic entirely, for example in a pedestrian precinct or on a route open only to those on foot. Do not enter, even briefly, and look instead for a signed alternative route. Learners often assume the plain red ring means no entry to a one-way street, so it is worth knowing that the blank red circle is the broadest prohibition of all.
