No right turn

Signs giving orders

No right turn

What does this sign mean?

Turning right at the junction or access ahead is prohibited, often because the turn would cross a busy opposing flow or lead into a one-way street. It is common on main roads through towns and at junctions where right turns are concentrated at signal-controlled crossings instead. Carry on and use a signed alternative, such as a roundabout or a later junction, to reverse your direction. Learners often mistake it for the no U-turn sign, so look at the shape of the arrow inside the ring.
