No left turn

Signs giving orders

No left turn

What does this sign mean?

Turning left at the junction or entrance ahead is prohibited, usually because the side road is one-way against you or the turn would block a busy flow. It is common in town centres and at complex junctions where turning movements are separated. Continue past the junction and take a signed alternative route rather than attempting the turn. Take care not to confuse it with the no U-turn sign, since both use a curving arrow with a red diagonal bar.
