Single red line

No stopping during times shown on sign

What does this road marking mean?

A single red line prohibits stopping during the times shown on nearby signs, and permits it outside those hours. It does the same job on a Red Route that a single yellow line does elsewhere, but bites harder because it forbids stopping rather than merely waiting. The controlled hours are typically the peak periods when the route needs to keep moving. Always check the sign, since red and yellow lines can only ever indicate that a control exists.
