Hazard warning line

What does this road marking mean?

A centre line whose painted sections are longer than the gaps between them, warning of a hazard ahead such as a bend, a junction or a narrowing. You may still cross it, but you should not do so unless you can see the road ahead is clear. It is the road telling you that your view is about to become worse than it looks. Treat the change from a normal centre line to this one as the point to abandon an overtake rather than hurry it.
