Recommended route for pedal cycles to place shown

What does this sign mean?

This sign shows cyclists a recommended route to the destination named, usually one that avoids the busiest or fastest roads. For drivers it is a useful indication that cyclists will be joining or leaving the carriageway nearby. Give riders room, check mirrors and blind spots before turning, and never overtake a cyclist just before a junction where you intend to turn left. Cyclist awareness is one of the highest-weighted topics in the car theory test.
