Direction signs
Local route sign on the approach to a junction
On approaches to junctions
What does this sign mean?
A white sign with a black border warns of a junction ahead on a non-primary road and names the destinations on each arm. These junctions are often narrower and busier with parked vehicles than those on primary routes. Read the sign, position yourself early and be ready for the junction to arrive sooner than expected. Sign colour is the fastest way to know what kind of road you are being sent down, which is why the theory test drills it.
