Primary route sign on the approach to a roundabout

On approaches to junctions

What does this sign mean?

This green advance sign shows a roundabout in map form, with each exit labelled with the destinations it serves. Use it to work out which exit you want and therefore which lane to approach in, before you reach the give way line. If you are unsure, take the lane that keeps your options open rather than committing to a right-hand lane you may not need. Reading roundabout map signs and choosing the correct approach lane is a heavily tested skill.
