Information signs
Vehicles permitted to use an HOV lane ahead
What does this sign mean?
This sign lists which vehicles may use the high occupancy vehicle lane ahead, typically cars carrying a minimum number of people together with buses, taxis and motorcycles. It is placed before the lane starts so drivers can decide whether to move into it. Only use the lane if your vehicle appears on the sign and, where a minimum occupancy is shown, you actually meet it. Designated lanes and who may use them are set out in the Highway Code and appear in theory test questions on lane discipline.
