No through road for vehicles

Information signs

No through road for vehicles

What does this sign mean?

This sign tells you that the road ahead is a dead end for vehicles, although there may still be a path through for pedestrians or cyclists. It is used at the entrance to cul-de-sacs and closed-off streets. Do not turn in unless that is your destination, because you will have to turn round, and reversing out onto a main road is both difficult and prohibited in some situations. The blue rectangular version is easy to confuse with other information signs, so note the red bar across the stem.
