Tourist information point

What does this sign mean?

This brown sign directs you to a tourist information point, where maps and local guidance are available. It is used near town approaches, service areas and popular visitor areas. If you need to check a route, pulling in here is far safer than trying to read a map or set a navigation system while driving. The Highway Code is explicit that setting up a navigation system should be done before you start, which is exactly the behaviour this sign supports.
