End of motorway

What does this sign mean?

This sign tells you that motorway regulations no longer apply from this point, and that the road ahead has different rules and often a lower speed limit. You will meet it where a motorway becomes an ordinary dual carriageway or feeds into a roundabout. Slow down deliberately, because speeds that felt normal on the motorway will now be too high, and expect to meet pedestrians, cyclists and slow vehicles that were prohibited before. Adjusting to the change after leaving a motorway is a recurring theory test theme, along with the way your sense of speed is distorted.
