A GREEN ARROW releases one direction of movement whatever the other lamps show — go only the way it points.

What does this light signal mean?

A green arrow may accompany the full green where one direction of movement is released before or after the main phase. It authorises travel only along the direction the arrow points, and it does so whatever the other lamps are showing. Position yourself in the correct lane on the approach, because a filter is worthless from the wrong one. Trams may be given white light signals in place of these.
