Vehicle markings
Spontaneously combustible substance
What does this vehicle marking mean?
A diamond plate identifying a substance that can ignite without an external source of heat or flame. Damage to the packaging or exposure to air can be enough to start a fire, which is why a collision involving this class is treated so seriously. Do not attempt to move packages or open containers under any circumstances. Move people away and upwind, then call for help.
