Vehicle markings
Non-flammable compressed gas
What does this vehicle marking mean?
A diamond plate identifying non-flammable compressed gas. The danger here is pressure rather than fire: a heated or damaged cylinder can rupture violently and throw debris a long way. Vehicles carrying gas cylinders are common on ordinary roads, so the marking is one of the more frequently seen in this family. Keep a generous distance in slow traffic and do not follow closely enough that a shunt would damage the load.
