Signal to a person controlling traffic: turning right

I want to turn right

What does this signal mean?

The driver extends the right arm to tell the person controlling traffic that they intend to turn right. A right turn usually crosses an oncoming stream, so the controller needs to know about it earlier than a left turn or a straight-on movement. Give the signal on the approach rather than once you have reached the junction. Wait to be beckoned before beginning the turn.
