Traffic approaching from the front

What does this signal mean?

The officer raises one arm with the palm facing the traffic coming towards them, which is the signal to stop for vehicles approaching from the front. It is the position most people picture when they think of an officer directing traffic. Stop at the point where the officer can see you clearly, and wait until you are beckoned on. You must obey the signal even where the lights or markings say something different.
