Arm signal: turning right

I intend to move out to the right or turn right

What does this signal mean?

The arm is extended straight out from the window to signal an intention to move out to the right or turn right. Because it puts your arm outside the vehicle it is only practical at low speed, which is where it is most useful anyway. It is worth knowing as a road user even if you never give it, since you may need to read it from a cyclist or a horse rider. Never treat someone else's arm signal as an invitation to proceed.
