Arm signal: turning left

I intend to move in to the left or turn left

What does this signal mean?

The driver's arm is rotated in a circular motion to signal an intention to move in to the left or turn left. It exists for the cases where indicators might not be seen or believed, such as very bright low sun or a queue where your lights are hidden. The signal supplements the indicator rather than replacing it. Give it in good time and return both hands to the wheel before you begin to turn.
